Hurricanes are massive, cyclical weather “terrorists” that literally “throws” bands of violent storms upon the surface of the water and the land. When a hurricane comes upon you, the experience is that of band after band after band of violently tossed torrents of rain and walls of wind, one after another after another, that scourge the earth and everything (and everyone) in its path! At the center of the hurricane is what is called the “eye of the storm”. If the “eye” passes directly over you, it can fool you into thinking that the storm has passed. The center is a very brief time that is completely calm and clear of clouds, rain, or wind. However, once the “eye” passes the ferocity of the storm is unleashed again. When the hurricane finally passes, the change is SUDDEN. In other words, when the last violet “band” of passes, the sunlight and the calm is almost instantaneous.
More on “hurricanes” in a minute.
In my lifetime I have discerned that the “religion” of Christianity is wrought with lies and false doctrine. I’m not speaking of the Bible. I’m speaking of the “violence” done by men that has polluted and perverted the Bible by “one’s own personal interpretation” (2 Peter 1:20).
God’s Word is true and does not lie; God’s Word is, “…living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart….”
Today, “peace” is the message of the 21st century “gospel”. But look at what Jesus said!
“I came to send fire on the earth…” (Luke 12:49)
“Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division…” (Luke 12:51)
“Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’;… (Matthew 10:34-35)
Today, the 21st century “gospel” message is that Jesus is the “answer” to fix all problems, to repair all marriages, to balance all checkbooks, to relieve all financial pressure, to attain “miraculous” healing, and to be made free from lawful obligation.
Torn out of the pages of the Christian “religion” are all references to chastening, reproof, exhorting, correction, discipline, scourging, REPENTING, suffering, and punishment as relating to followers of Jesus.
Today’s Christian “religion” does not hold to the truths of adversity, affliction, tribulation, and suffering particularly in relation to the disobedience and / or transformation of the Godly.
The effect of Jesus’ love is much more like a hurricane when a man responds to the call of God’s choosing.
Hurricanes have the effect on the earth of violent destruction, tearing down, breaking down, purging, and sweeping the earth. When the storm has finished, the old has passed away that the new can come. God chooses some that He sends a hurricane. Not a weather pattern, but such a pattern of tribulation that has the same destructive violence in the life of those He loves deeply.
You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin. And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: “My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; for whom the LORD loves He chastens, and scourges every son whom He receives. If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.” (Hebrews 12:4-8)
And when God’s “hurricane” has finished its work in the life of the beloved, “…he is a new creation; old things have passed away; (now) all things become new…” (2 Corinthians 5:14-17).
