FULFILLED PROPHECY? Or COINCIDENCE? You decide!
TALKING ABOUT COINCIDENCE! “Coincidence” is defined by Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary as, “concurrence; consistency; agreement; as the coincidence of two or more opinions; coincidence of evidences. A meeting of events in time; concurrence; a happening at the same time; as coincidence of events.”
Today we generally think of “coincidence” as something that happens by mere happenstance, just happening by chance.
“Coincidence” is a conflicting “term” to true followers of Jesus Christ. It is for me! I have come to believe that, in the life of a true believer, there is NOTHING that happens by mere coincidence. Yet, at times I question my own belief on this matter. One time I lost my glasses…and then I later found them. By chance? Or by God’s having made it happen? Another time I lost my glasses…but never found them? By chance? Or by God’s keeping them hidden from me?
I have been a follower of Jesus Christ for more than 40 years now. I have come to the place that, whether “coincidence” or not, “He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.” (Romans 8:27-29)
